MHCC Video on Affordable Housing and Rezoning: “Morningside Home”

Our work to raise awareness on the acute need for affordable housing and the rezoning of Morningside Heights continues.  The effort received a major boost last December, when City Council Speaker Corey Johnson pledged his support for rezoning.  However, we must continue to advocate strongly for this critical initiative and make sure it actually occurs.   It will be a long process.  We are fully committed and would appreciate your hands-on support.

Morningside Heights’ zoning has not been modified since 1961.  In this era of luxury overdevelopment across New York City, our community must unite in demanding this common-sense approach to balanced neighborhood development.
